NEWSLETTER FOR JAN. 30, 2012

Tonight’s meeting was presided over by both Prez Pat and Vic in the absence of VP Mike, with a semi-light crowd present.

· Our only guest was Andy’s better half, Jodi.

· No one must be happy because there were no Happy Bucks!

· There was no program tonight , so we had an open forum with concentration on the Spring Fling. One of the initial issues brought up by Vic that was discussed at the B of D meeting is sadly an unfortunate one, our lack of respect for the officers and program speakers when they have the floor. There is plenty of time for fellowship, but bottom line is we need to do a better job of respecting the speaker with a little less talking and noise. ( Personally, it is often difficult to hear what is being said when I’m taking notes for the bulletin, though I’ve been a “sinner” once in awhile!!) So let’s all try and be a little quieter as our 2012 resolution!!

· Other issues included the dress code and how we have let it lapse over the years. More on correcting this in the near future.

· In regard to the Spring Fling, George passed out invitations to the event this evening. Money must be in by 4/16/12 and there are no #’s on the tickets, of which only 160 will be sold this year. After a semi- heated discussion, (of which I will not go into detail here), bottom line is we MUST contact the people we usually sell to within the next 2 weeks and get their commitments, thereby freeing up tickets for others to buy.
