I would like to take this opportunity and thank my fellow Rotarians for this Honor of leading our fine club for the year “2009 – 2010”.  I would also like to thank my wonderful wife for all the support she has given me by standing by my side.

I became a Rotarian in “2003”, but have been involved with Rotary and very fond memories for as far back as I can remember.  Memories such as “the Father and Son dinners, Rotary Family Picnics, and I especially remember the Happy Hour at my grandfather Knight’s house”.  Happy Hour at Mayor Knight’s was every Monday night; a few of the guys would meet for a cocktail before the weekly meeting.

I am the first 4th Generation Rotarian President in our fine club (Berlin Rotary Club).  My Great Grandfather Curtis W. Henry and my Great Uncle William B. Knight who both were not only Distinguished Rotarians but both were Charter members.  My Grandfather James  Knight, Sr. who was Mayor of our wonderful town and a Pillar to the community served with over 50 years of perfect attendance and also had a great influence on my life.  It is an Honor to let everyone know how well a Respected man he was in our community.  Through my childhood, my dad was always very involved, not only in the community, but the family business, Rotary, Past President of West Jersey and NJ State Funeral Directors and still found the time to achieve 40 years of perfect attendance.  Needless to say, I am very Proud to be who I am today because of my Father and Grandfather and sincerely hope to continue the Knight Legacy.

This 72nd year of the Berlin Rotary Club, I am striving for 2 Goals.

1.       Having Fun – Growing up around this club, I believe fun was a “Prerequisite “.  I have always

Felt we need to enjoy what we do in order to Excel.

2.       The 2nd Goal is most important to the clubs existence, we as a club need to increase Membership. To regain our strength in numbers, mindset and return this club near

To the numbers I experienced in the days of my childhood.  This is very vital to continue

This clubs respect from the community and the district.

In summary it’s called “OLD SCHOOL “.  I would really appreciate bringing back some of the

Old Traditations that this club enjoyed for years
